PRIMA '99
2nd Pacific Rim International Workshop on Multi-Agents

Coop Inn Kyoto, Kyoto, Japan
December 2-3, 1999

PRIMA is a series of workshops on autonomous agents and multiagent systems, integrating the activities in Asia and Pacific rim countries, such as MACC (Multiagent Systems and Cooperative Computation) in Japan, and Australian Workshop on Distributed Artificial Intelligence. The first workshop, PRIMA '98, was held at PRICAI'98, Singapore.

The aim of this workshop is to encourage activities in this field, and to bring together Asia and Pacific Rim researchers with agents and multiagent issues. Unlike usual conferences, this workshop will mainly discuss and explore scientific and practical problems as raised by the participants. Participation is thus limited to professionals who have made significant contributions to the topics of the workshop.

Venue:

PRIMA '99 will be held at Coop Inn Kyoto, located in the center of Kyoto city, an old capital of Japan.

Submission:

Papers should be submitted online through PRIMA'99 home page (/prima99). We can accept the following file formats: PDF (preferable), Postscript, TeX, and MS Word. Please refer to the PRIMA'99 home page for further details. If the online submission is not practical for you, then send five hard
copies to either of the program co-chairs.

Submitted papers should be in Springer Lecture Note Series format. The length of the paper is recommended to be 12 to 15 pages long in the format. (See "publication" below and/or Springer LNCS home page: http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/index.html .)

Papers describing both theoretical and applied research in multi-agent systems can be submitted for PRIMA '99. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Multiple submission policy for papers: Papers that are being submitted to other AI conferences, whether verbatim or in essence, must reflect this fact on the title page. Papers that do not meet this requirement are subject to rejection without review.

Publication:

All accepted papers will be electronically published. Selected papers are published as a Springer LNCS/LNAI with rewriting reflecting comments from reviewers. A special issue of New Generation Computing (from Springer) on multiagent systems is also scheduled.

Important Dates:

June 1st* 1999 submission deadline of papers
Aug 1st 1999 notification of acceptance
Sep 10th 1999 final camera ready paper due

* If you are planning to submit a paper and need more time for preparation, or has problems with the format, please contact one of the program co-chairs.

Review:

All submissions will be reviewed on the basis of relevance, originality, significance, soundness and clarity. At least three
referees will review each submission independently.
