Ph.D. course for 5 years (including 2 year Masters course)

This laboratory welcomes applications from highly qualified students having basic knowledge about
- artificial intelligence, especially agent and semantics
- human interface, especially communication, collaboration, and usability

    Please provide your cumulative Grade Point Average on a 4.0 scale (A = 4 points, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1). Our requirement is 3.0 or higher.
  4. Certificate of your bachelor's degree.
  5. Recommendation letter from your supervisor.
  6. Scores of GRE.
    You must take both the General tests and the Advanced Subject test in computer science. Applicants with scores below the 90th percentile on the Quantitative and Analytical sections of the GRE are rarely admitted.
  7. Scores of English language test (TOEFL, TOEIC, etc.).
    We have a minimum score requirement of 90 on the TOEFL iBT or the equal level on the TOEIC.
  8. Score of Japanese Language Proficiency Test, level one.
  9. Your photo.

As for Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship Students Program, please ask Embassy of Japan or Consulate General in your country. Embassies and Consulates list is available from Embassies and Consulates list. You have to apply it by yourself. You also have to take an entrance examination of graduate course of the department. For Chinese citizens, Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship is not available for Masters course program but can be available only for Ph.D. course for 3 years.

Your Ph.D. research will be social informatics related areas. Refer our research group pages for your consideration of research proposal.
